Just five minutes.

Countless times I said those words.
Always a little more.
Read to the end of the page,
or a chapter.
Or another,
just one more.
Dimming the light.
Under the duvet.

Reading.
All.
Everything.
By the age of ten,
done reading all the books
in our local library.
Well,
one big cupboard that was.
My mom gave me a gift,
she took me to the library,
in a nearby little town.

The world at my feet.

At that time,
never thought
I was going to make books.

Just 5 minutes,
that’s all
your brain needs,
5 minutes of focus and concentration
on one thing,
to encourage your imagination.

Imagination
is the only weapon
in the war against reality.
